Steer Terms of Service

Effective date: October 18, 2026

Steer is run by Hailang Huang (hl.run), an individual developer. By using Steer (the Mac and iPhone apps, website accounts, Relay, and the official marketplace), you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

1. Using Steer

  • You must be at least 13, or older if your local law requires it.
  • Steer may not be available everywhere. Don't use it where local law doesn't allow it.
  • You don't need an account to use Steer on your Mac. You need one to connect an iPhone through Steer Relay. Keep your account secure; you're responsible for activity under it. You can delete it at any time.

2. Your tasks are your responsibility

Steer is an agent that acts on your devices for you. It may read and change files, run commands, and access the network, within the permissions you set. You're responsible for the results. Back up important data, and check the agent's output before relying on it. Your task content is yours, and we never have access to it.

3. Third-party services

Model providers, ChatGPT, GitHub, extensions, and MCP servers you connect in Steer are governed by their own terms and charge their own fees. We aren't responsible for them.

4. Don't abuse it

Don't attack or interfere with the Steer services, get around quotas or security measures, or use Relay for anything unrelated to Steer or to transmit unlawful content. Accounts that do may be limited or suspended.

5. Free, as is

  • Steer is currently free.
  • It's provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, and we may change or discontinue it at any time. Discontinuing online services doesn't stop you from using the app on your Mac.
  • To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any loss arising from your use of Steer.

6. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will give advance notice of important changes by email or in the app. If you have a question or dispute, write to us first and we'll do our best to sort it out. These terms are available in English and Chinese; if the two differ, the English version applies.
